INTERMET ANNOUNCES NEW TECHNOLOGIES AND DISPLAYS A RANGE OF
PRODUCTS AT 2008 SAE WORLD CONGRESS.

DETROIT, Mich., April 10, 2008 - Intermet Corp., will display a wide range of its aluminum, iron, magnesium and zinc cast products at the 2008 SAE World Congress at Cobo Center in Detroit. Intermet's display is located in the OEM/Supplier Park at booth number 2044.

The company will display a broad selection of products from its three divisions: Die Cast, Ferrous and Pressure Counter Pressure Casting (PCPCT) including:

  • Die Cast - The widest range of products on display are precision die-cast components made of aluminum, magnesium and zinc. Rocker arm covers, brackets, housings and throttle bodies will be on display.
  • Ferrous - A variety of ductile iron castings such as: sleeves, crankshafts, hubs, housings, control arms and knuckles show the versatility, "machine-ability" and breadth of applications ductile iron castings provide. Castings on display range in size from sleeves weighing less than two pounds, to differential carriers weighing 48 pounds.
  • PCPCT - Cast aluminum steering knuckles showcase the unique combination of light weight and toughness the PCPCT process provides.

Intermet will also announce two new technologies and a unique, new manufacturing cell recently introduced at its facilities in Columbus, Ga., and Radford, Va.
